2003/4 Season


23 year old keeper who was signed last season to replace Lee Bracey. Had a good season in tough circumstances. Previously with Chesterfield and Bradford (Park Avenue)

MICK CLARK – Goalkeeper

Long serving keeper who signed from neighbours Ossett Albion in 1999 after helping them to the NCEL title. Very popular with the crowd Clarky has overcome several serious injuries over the past 2 seasons.

Captain and central defender who signed in 1998 from Sheffield FC. Experienced player was has also played for Nott’m Forest, Peterborough, Scarborough, Halifax Town and Stalybridge Celtic.

19 year old defender who has worked his way up through the Alliance and Reserves sides at the club and broken into the first team picture. Previously had trials with Sheffield Wednesday.

One of several young players to make their first team debut’s last season. Only 19 years old, Danny made an impressive first start against promoted Spennymoor United and will be looking to get more apps this term.

Former England Under-18 captain who signed for Town this summer. Left Back who began his career with Leeds United and Hull City and has UniBond League experience at Stocksbridge PS.

ADAM GRAY – Defender
Central defender or left back who signed from local football in 1999 but as suffered badly with injuries ever since. Younger brother of midfielder Ryan, Adam was previously on the books of Burnley.

GARY HOBSON – Defender
Experienced centre-back who signed for Town from Spennymoor this summer. Has vast Football League experience with York City, Chester City, Hull City and Brighton

PAUL RYAN – Defender
Pacey defender who re-joined Town last season after a spell at Garforth Town in the NCEL. Popular player who originally came to the club in 1999 from Thackley and has previous UniBond experience at Guiseley.

One of of the few bright spots to emerge from a torrid season last year. 18 year old Brook made the left back spot his own with some stunning displays. Hot prospect for the future who arrived at Town from Barnsley.

Signed for Town this summer after being released from Sheffield United. A product of the Blades’ youth set up, the 20 year old captained their reserves last season.

Began to establish himself in the first team last season after a couple of years in the reserves. Skillful goalscoring midfield player who joined Town in 2001 from Tadcaster Albion having also played for Ossett Albion.

DAVE BOARDMAN – Midfielder
Another youngster who sprang from the Academy side last season. Signed by Academy manager Lindsay Dawson and has flourished under his leadership. At 18 years old Dave is another with a big future.

DEBON BUSHRI – Midfielder
Burundi born midfield player who signed this summer and was instantly nicknamed ‘Dessie’ by the Town players. An exciting player who will add skill and flair to the Ossett midfield.

JOE COOK – Midfielder
Talented midfield player who is a product of the Alex’s youth set up. Played in the Academy side over the past couple of seasons before taking a year out last term.

RYAN GRAY – Midfielder
Solid midfield battler who has twice picked up the ‘player-of-the-season’ award during his time at Town. Signed with brother Adam from local football in 1999, but has also played for Barnsley, Halifax & Gainsborough.

MARCEL JAMES – Midfielder
Midfielder who signed for the club last season and played several games for the Reserves in the Lancashire League. Talented player who is half French.

MARK LAMBERT – Midfielder
Home grown talent who has had the scouts flocking to Ingfield on more than one occasion. An all round midfield talent, ‘Lamby’ spent most of last season out of the game but is back for 2003/04.

ANDY SHELTON – Midfielder
23 year old midfielder who has signed for the club this summer after a year out of the game with a serious knee injury. Previously played league football at Chester City and has also played for Harrogate and Hyde.

6ft 5incs forward who signed for the club in the summer from local rivals Emley. Highly rated by former Emley manager Ronnie Glavin, Adam has also played local football for Silsden.

Teenage striker who broke into the first team last season and scored a number of goals. Often used wide last term, Danny is more naturally a forward where he played in the reserves after joining in 2001

23 year old forward who can also operate in central defence. Part of Town’s 2001/02 ‘promotion’ squad, Feathers began his career at Blackburn and has also played for Scunthorpe, Emley, Harrogate & N.Ferriby.

Nigerian forward who signed this summer after spells in Morroco and Singapore. Strong front man who scored 6 goals in 9 games for Yeovil Town in 2002.

Another bright spot of last season after breaking into the first team and leading the line for much of the year. Only 18 years old, ‘Wally’ was watched by scouts from Everton last season.
